I am now in the market for a car cover. Even if you don't have one for sale, I could use some suggestions on what type is best - I've never had to use one before!
Thanks!
Debbie:
I've been using VW dealer covers on my bugs and have been happy. They fit tight, have the correct mirror pockets and stay on even in moderate winds. I've used them outside for years, but now they are inside (garage) and used for travel-time protection. All covers wear out after a few years of use.
I have purchased other brands for other cars. If you want to go this way check California Car Covers. I've ordered items from them and have always been happy.
I would avoid thin materials; they move too much in wind and often blowing off the car. I like a somewhat study material resistant to moisture and the sun's UV rays. I assume you will be parking outside. I used the VW ones outside on my 'vert for about two years and car stayed reasonable clean.
Note: do not use the cover when your bug is too dirty. The inside of the cover gets the dirt added and then the cover abrades the paint. The California duster helps keep the dust off reasonably well until any moisture is added - then the dirt sticks to the bugs surface.

Luke-
Thanks for the tips. I will check Timmon's price on Saturday. Also I know that the front end covers (bras) are not good to have on the car during rain - how about regular car covers? My car will be in covered parking, but all sides will be exposed.
