I have purchased 4 brand new NBs from 4 different dealerships and have had very different experiences...

Valencia VW (no longer in business) was our local dealership in Santa Clarita. I bought my Turbo Isotope there in 2001. Actually, I bought the manual transmission, drove it that night and took it back the next day! They let me trade it for an automatic!

I bought CremeBriolet at Covina VW. I took possession on Christmas Eve 2002! They always remembered me and loved seeing the car as the customization evolved.

Timmons VW in Long Beach sent me flowers in the hospital after CremeBriolet was totalled, and found my 2006 Salsa Red convertible for me. They got me approved over the phone and had it ready for me when I drove down to pick it up!

Barber VW in Ventura recently took my custom convertible in trade for my new 2007 Triple White convertible. They made everything very easy for me and got me a great deal!

Just be sure and mention the SoCal New Beetle Club at the dealerships...you may just get a nice little discount!

I have been dealing with Barber VW in Ventura since 1998 which is about the time they began carrying VWs (there is a parent dealer which sells Ford products that purchased the dealer from another outfit in Ventura). A separate VW location was set up about 2000 near the 101 Freeway.

The first NB sold in our area was to Larry Hagman of TV and movie fame. Somewhere I have a picture taken by Barber sales staff on the day he picked up his Silver NB. Several years ago I meant a fellow in Ojai that had purchsed that Beetle, but have not seen him since.

If you go to Barber for parts ask for a discount and tell them you are with the SoCal NBC club. They have been nice enough to provide prizes for some of our past cruises locally and have hosted the start of two other cruises.

For parts see Ron or Pauline (she has an NB); for sales see Alvin (he's a total VW nut and owns an R32 and a custom Eurovan - he sold his NB several years ago)

I bought my NB at Capistrano (when I was looking at a GTi) and I saw PollyBuggles staring at me and calling me over! They did everything great, including getting rid of a leased vehicle for me (Mazda) at a better price than what Mazda offered me. Brian and Troy were fantastic. Fred the finance man was great too (I got 1% deal):happy093:.

Also want to mention Pasedena. I saw a car on their site and contacted them on email. That night I bought PollyBuggles at Capistrano and when Pasedena contacted me the next day I told them I had bought my bug and they said Congratulations Hope you have a fantastic time with her. Very professional. :-)

I go to Pacific Volkswagen the guys in the service department are very nice and always talk to me when I'm there. The manager of the service department was very friendly when I first got Fiona and had a few questions about her CEL and airbag light, he was very helpful :)

I think most members here know how much Timmons VW (in Long Beach) consistently bends over backwards for our club. They help me host TOYJAM every year, and have honestly been the best dealership I have EVER dealt with since I started buying cars when I was 16 (30 years ago....eeek!)

I got Bella at Paradise VW in Indio. I was not impressed, but I think it was mostly because my sales guy was... AWFUL!!!:confused005: I sold myself the car. If I had not been so in love with Bella, I would have walked. I am not sure how service is yet. I am kind of hoping that other folks from around my area know of a good place to have her serviced or can tell me that Paradise is BETTER in the service dept. I am thrilled with Bella, I just feel like the salesman should have made more of an effort. She was not even ready for me when I got there to pick her up, even though I called a day in advance to let them know I'd be there to pick her up. :nada:

VW BEATL

I take VW BEATL to McKenna VW of Huntington Beach. Ever since Steven & I have walked into the dealership they've always treated us like family. When we bring in VW BEATL for a fun maintenence like a lowering suspension job, replacing a headlight or even purchasing a second key for Steven, I always leave knowing the job was done with a 100% effort, and having a long stem rose handed to me to put in my NB vase. I call them fun maintenance because they tell me everytime I'm there, it's not for a maintenance job that needs fixing, it's always an upgrade maintenance.
Never ever any pressure being there, if we have any questions about any of the new NB's in the lot they'll answer it. Every Service Consultant, like Norman has a smile and even the manager will get off of the phone to come over to shake our hands and ask how we are doing. The Parts Advisor, Carlos will look up anything on the computer for us and even walk out to the lot to answer any questions we have on a part we may be interested in. Just a real happy, here to take care of you and your VW atmosphere.

I know VW BEATL is happy with the service he gets there!:happy096:
