I just created an Avatar. Several in the group have Avatar's and it does not take a lot of computer skills to create one.
Find a photo of your New Beetle or yourself that you like. The Avatar will need to be square and the link below will CROP the image to a square for you.
Go to this web site:

Step 1 will ask you to BROWSE... for your picture.
Step 2 you need to set your Avatar size to 100. 200 is the default and that will work but it will be too large an image for most Forums to accept so please pick 100.
Step 3 click the RESIZE button.
WAIT. It will take some time for this FREE web site to resize your image.
The web site will come back with THREE choices. Pick the one that you like the best. Click the DOWNLOAD THIS PICTURE NOW link of the one you like. If you do not like any, start over and pick another photo.
Once the above is done, click on Profile in this web site. Profile is near the top of the page to the right of the Southern California New Beetle Club image.
At the bottom of your Profile page, you will fine Avatar Control Panel. Click the browse button and follow the steps.
Once your Avatar is loaded, you will see the image on your Profile page.
Now the next time you post a message to the Forum, your Avatar will appear with your post.
It is possible that you will not see your Avatar when you click PREVIEW of your message. That is what happens to me in this and on other Forums but when your message is submitted, it does show up when you go back to read the message.
