Well this first rain storm let me test my nb 'vert . However whenever my windshield wipers are running my car loses power and my dash lights dim. This doesn't seem right. Anyone out there had this happen b4?

Never heard of that, but it could be a bad alternator or a low battery.

Maybe the wipers are drawing too much current from the system.... or as Frank sez the battery needs a good healthy charge.

Ever watch your lights when you roll ALL the window up or down at the same time; on mine it does the same thing (dims the lights) since that draws alot of power also.

If you do not drive long distances and often use lights, radio, etc. maybe the battery does not get to fully charge (this can happen in the winter when we requires lights to drive home from work in the dark). Just a thought.

Sometimes I put my bugs on a slow charger overnight to keep the batteries at full charge. You can get slow charging systems at Sears for a relatively small amount of cash.

If you park in a garage and leave your keys in the ignition that draws a bit of current also (at least, it seems to me it does). Even in the garage I remove the keys from the ignition. It seems that the batteries keep their charge longer.

Ever notice that when VW leaves their cars in lots for a while they use a solar charger in the window. That's to keep the batteries fully charged. Sometimes the dealer will provide those with their cars - at least, they did when I got my 'vert.

the same thing happens when i put all the windows up at the same time. the lights dim a little too. Guess i'll have them (dealer) take a look at it.
