I have some sad news to report.

Dean Wagner a long time member has passed away. He died Wednesday, April 2, he had a heart attack and several days later he died in the hospital. I talked to Rena and there was no funeral or memorial that’s what Dean would have wanted, she said she is doing ok and has lots of support from her kids.

I have been trying to get a hold of Rena for the pass couple of days to get permission to give out her address however it’s been unsuccessful. I don’t know if it’s ok, I am sure it is. If you would like it please email me kolika99nb@yahoo.com (kolika99nb@yahoo.com)

(Chris, Cbugman, thank you for contacting me on myspace about Dean.)

Thanks for the update.

This is very sad.

The times I spoke with Dean I recall that he was deeply passionate about so many things in life including his special edition blue New Beetle. He was also proud that his family members had so many other New Beetles.

Dean was a fixture in the SoCal NBC for many, many years and he will be greatly missed.

Good bye, Dean, and carry your passions with you where ever you may go and for whatever new topics you encounter along the way.

Thanks for letting us know, Doris. Dean did a great job with the website for a long time. He was very talented and passionate about his family's beetles. I'm so sorry to hear about what happened. I know that he was taking care of Rena after her stroke. I hope she is doing well.

CiaoBug, Aaron, and I send our deepest condolences to Rena and family following Dean's untimely death. We remember how proud Dean was of his entire New Beetle family, and how he could always be counted on to participate in club events. Even though we no longer live in SoCal, we morn his passing.

A great loss. Dean always seems to put the beetle club first, and did so much to keep the website alive. You will be missed!

Hi everyone,
I got a call yesterday from Guy, who is Dean’s stepson, Rena's son. He called to let us know that there will be a Memorial for Dean at his house tomorrow. He apologized for the late notice. He said its nothing to big, they are doing like a Hawaiian theme Memorial. For you that don’t know, Dean has been decorating his entire backyard area in a Hawaiian Tiki theme, so in honor of him they are doing a Hawaiian theme memorial. Saturday, April 26, 2pm-8pm, come anytime between those hours.

They realize its very short notice, so if maybe people that did know Dean can call Rena, she would love it.

Here is all the info:
