Moonrise Cruise: Aug 16th 2008

Join us for a different type of cruise on August 16th. This is an unusual time of the year due to sunset and moonrise occurring at the same time: 7:40 pm (for Santa Clarita). We should see the sun setting in the western sky at the same time the moon rises in the eastern sky. NOTE: This is not our normal daytime style cruise.

We're hoping the evening will be warm so that we can drive with tops down, moonroofs open and/or windows down (depending on the type of Beetle you own). We are still searching for a suitable road to drive and a parking location to view this special event.

Meet Place: Marie Calendars at the I-5/Magic Mtn Parkway exit

Meet time: 5pm (we may have appetizers there or a dinner later - check back for final meeting time).

Date: Sat August 16th, 2008

ummm im confused...it says August 16th on the title and August 15th in the post itself...sooo which one is it?? i gotta request the day off or night off whichever but i gotta know like tonight so i can do it tomorrow...plz stop the :confused:

Sorry; my bad (red face).

It is the 16th which is a Sat evening. I changed the original post so both dates are now the same.

Saturday night the moon is 99.7% full when it rises. It gets to 100% full at 2:15am that same night (which is actually Sun morning - at least, that is what I recall without re-checking the exact details).
