I’m laying out the general routing for CENTRAL! and just need to hear from John from Eastern, and Lisa from Wisconsin to nail down where we’ll all meet up.

The preliminary route takes us from the Toronto area through Michigan to Joliet, IL where we’ll overnight like last year. We’ll head down towards St. Louis giving us lots of time to wander around some of Route 66. I figure we’ll then meet with Lisa (unless she’ll meat, oops meet along the way) and Eastern overnight in St. Louis. I just need to know your motel plans for that night if that’s where you’re staying. Last year we stayed just west of the city so we wouldn’t have the rush hour in the morning, which is fine, except that cancels grouping at the Arch. Then it looks like the regular CENTRAL routing overnighting in Oklahoma City before heading to Amarillo and Roswell on the last day.

Any feedback would be great, plus I’d like to start getting a list of people that plan on joining Central. Thanks.

Rough plans for the CENTRAL! Caravan are as follows;

Monday June 22: Depart home and head west towards Joliet, IL, picking up any people from the Toronto and Ontario, and Michigan areas along the way. Overnight in Joliet.

Tuesday June 23: Depart Joliet, heading south towards St. Louis, stopping along the way along old Route 66. Overnight in Rolla, MO where there are some other Route 66 sites.

Wednesday June 24: Depart Rolla, stopping along the way at some other Route 66 landmarks, including the rebuilt Rock Cafe in Stroud, OK. Overnight in Oklahoma City.

Thursday June 25: Depart OK City, heading west towards Amarillo where we'll pick up other caravans, including the Eastern Caravan, then heading south into Roswell where the fun begins!!

Routing will be posted soon, as well as hotel accommodations. I'm awaiting news of times to meet up with Eastern.
