News about Colorado Caravan

We will be posting your site and the Roswell site on our Colorado Site this week.
We will be making plans when we see how many will be going to Roswell so far

Caravan 1: leaving Wed for Albq. NM
travel down I-25 from Denver to Albq. NM

Caravan 2: leaving Thur. early am (time?)
travel down I-25 form Spring to Las Vegas NM
turn outside of Vegas head for Vaughn NM

Caravan 1&2: meet up Thur in Vaughn NM along with group
coming from Albq. and SoCal

*I need to know from the Albq. or SoCal group what time will you
be leaving Albq. on Thur. I need to know so I can plan what time
we need to leave so we can all meet up in Vaughn. Thanks

Rhonda:

It looks like about a 1 1/2 hour drive from ABQ to Vaughn and another 1 1/2 hours to Roswell. I will assume (for now) that we should arrive in Roswell about 2 pm plus/minus. There was some talk from Earl that we would attempt to make calls between caravans on Thurs to time all caravan arrivals in Roswell together.

This may mean that some caravans will need to stop along the road for a while prior to 'hitting' town. I think that will be OK with all the drivers. I believe Earl was thinking we might get some local press coverage that we'd need to coordinate with in terms of timing.

So, based on this time table, I will set some preliminary times from ABQ to Roswell as follows:

- Leave ABQ at 10 am - this will give time for breakfast before leaving

- Arrive in Vaughn about 11:30 am to merge with other groups at noonish

- Leave Vaughn about 12:30 or so and arrive in Roswell at about 2 pm

This way we all get time to check into our respective rooms/clean up before the dinner at Tia Juanas restaurant Thurs night.

If there are other (existing) plans let us all know. This will give us something to work with for now and it may be the final plan.

Thanks for the info, I will make our time line and get it posted. I think we will have to leave Colorado by 6am.
