HI everyone! I am up in the SF Bay Area and I am looking for people to caravan out to Roswell with. It will be my first trip, and I plan on sleeping/camping in my car the whole trip. (The only way I can afford the gas/food) I'd also be happy to meet up with people down in SoCal to caravan with too.

I am hoping that:
A) I can find some other SF Bay area or SoCal beetle owners that plan on heading to Roswell this year to tag along with on the trip there and back.

B) Find someone that is willing to allow me to use their shower in their hotel room in Roswell/along road trip. Just because I plan on sleeping in my car doesn't mean I have to neglect my personal hygiene! :nono:

This is going to be my birthday present to myself this year, and I am really excited about it! :happy093:

Any suggestions? Does anyone know of a caravan headed from the SF Bay Area or SoCal that I could caravan with?

Thanks in advance-
Amy

Amy:

You'll have to check and see if this works for you, but we are considering having the SoCal folks meet in Barstow at the McDonalds. In past years we have joined with other bugs at that location. It is not a bad location for SoCal drivers to 'funnel' in from their various locations and take a break before heading out. Since this is a 10 year anniversary run it seems logical (to me) to replicate elements of past carabugs to Roswell.

I don't have an exact hour for us to meet in Barstow yet, but it would be the morning of June 23rd (Tues). We'll work our way to Flagstaff for that night. Then, we are on to ABQ for Weds night before making our final run to visit the Mothership in Roswell on Thurs.

In past years. Judy Carter of PNW fame has camped along the way. The only place she got an inexpensive hotel room was in Roswell (temps are very hi in summer). Not sure if Judy is going this year but perhaps if so you guys could help each other out a bit?

Judy, you there?
