Show Day is Saturday, June 27th.

The show will be held in the UFO Museum parking lot. The itinerary is:
- set up starts at 9:00 - I would like to get the UFO Abduction
pictures taken as you come in if possible,
- show starts at 10:00,
- walk around tour starts at 10:30,
- show ends at 3:00 or 4:00 depending on the timing of the parade, and
- parade will be a police escort up to the Sally Port - remember to
bring some candy for the the kids (note: this year we cannot 'throw' candy.
The Boy Scouts or others will pick it up from the Beetles and distribute
or you can get out and hand the candy to the children).

I say this is a car show, but it will not be judged and if trophies
are given it will be for funny awards. If awards are given they will
be handed out at the banquet that evening. We are putting our cars
out for our observation and showing the car diversity to the people
of Roswell and they do not need to be show quality clean (unless you
are a compulsive idiot like Cueball). Putting out all your "fluff"
displays (remember that fire storm?) as that shows the diverse
personality of our owners and is fun for the citizens of Roswell.
There will be restrooms available in the UFO Museum, shade tents will
be put up compliments of the UFO Museum or you can go into the Museum
to get out of the heat. Easy ups or canopies are acceptable.

The City of Roswell is making a festival out of our event and I have
been told that there will be bands, clowns, jugglers, and kids things
to do. This is the main reason why the show is down town as they
want to promote that area and the parade was made easier.

Be prepared for the "walk around". We will walk around as a group
(for those that want) from car to car and the owners will talk about
the modifications of each car . If the car is stock we will talk
about the differences between years and what is unique to your year.
There are several cars that have lots of things added and most all
the aftermarket products can be seen so lots of information will be
available first hand.

We will try to provide a shuttle from the show to the Sally Port as
needed (hopefully with a car seat). Shopping and eateries are very
convenient. The City is trying to arrange discounts at various
retail stores for the participants of the event.

I will post about the banquet soon,

Hi All,

Another great gesture from the UFO Museum and Research Center! They want to set up a large screen and those who want can have a photo taken of the owners and the car being abducted :new_shocked:up into an alien craft. I think this will take place on Show Day, Saturday June 27th. This is a great opportunity to show your friends and neighbors that we really are in touch with the mothership.

Please post this to the world and the other people not fortunate to be on this "list".

Here is another event plan that is for the evening of Show Day, June 27th. The banquet will be held in the pool area of the Sally Port. This will be one of the major events and sadly it is the only aspect of R2R10 that will cost you. The itinerary is:

- 6:00 pm to 7:00 - check in pay and sign some thank you posters - no host cocktails

- 7:00 to 8:00 - eat, seating not assigned

- 8:00 to ? - fun and games, introduction of all attendees (be prepared to talk about your car's name and any thing else you might want to add about your experiences with New Beetles, your NB friends and your adventures at Roswell.

The buffet menu is:
Roasted Baron of Beef,
Baked Chicken and Herbs,
Mixed Greens with choice of dressing,
Pasta Salad,
Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, and
Stir Fried Vegetables

There will be a slide show put on by Cameron Talley and Susan Hester running continually showing past Roswell events, this event, route 66 tour, and pictures from the various caravans and past events from around the nation. If you have any photos that you would like to include please contact Cameron or Susan.

The cost is about $20 per person, including tax and gratuity. This is still up in the air as we may get some financial help from the City of Roswell and VWoA. I would like you to pay at the door.

Do not miss this event - it will be one of the highlights of R2R10!

Please send this out to all our friends that are not on this list. See you all in Roswell - only 32 or 35 days left depending on when you are leaving!!!
