Here's a concept I've thought about for a long time; a fuller engine cover.

This owner did it - it is differrent - but he did it.

A little extreme for my tastes. but clever nonetheless.

While the topic of engine covers is on this thread - check this out - it is make of cloth (that's what the caption said).

However, to me it looks like some brand of kitchen shelving paper!

Again, very clever.

What about all that retained heat built up from the first one?

Heat Build up: The red one is probably not much different than having your hood closed.

I would probably put louvers in the cover AND the hood (figures, right) to dissipate heat.

On my bug I can see heat 'waves' coming out of the louvers from the drivers seat on a warm/hot day.

Earl's temp gauges show that these engine do run hot all the time, so you make a good point.

I have gauges as well (in BearJam) and the turbo engines run even hotter.
