Here I am, in the cornfields of Nebraska. It's been raining like crazy everyday...Not much to do but...yes, you guessed it! (watch the corn grow, if you didn't get that :P )

Just thought I'd browse the boards and find something to talk about.... well, here I am with not a lot to say! (gee, doesn't sound like me, does it?? )

Saw a few NBs today, one yellow 99 on a lot for $8998. A handful on the road. Everyone out here in the boonies thinks I'm absolutely nuts for having a VW, let alone 2! Everyone has big ole pick up trucks!
Fun to watch their faces when I tell them I'm in a club! I went with my dad to his antique car club GTG yesterday. They're all old farts with some pretty cool old classics. They really thought I was a weirdo!

Anyway...just thinkin' about y'all....can't wait to see you at ToyJam! (Unless someone wants to have a GTG before then????)

When I go places, everyone thinks I am a weirdo also. Not sure if it is because I drive a diesel New Beetle or that I fly an airplane that I built in my garage.

The airplane.
4-cylinder 320 cubic inches / 160 HP / 173+ MPH @ 7 gallons per hour. (24 MPG)
Top speed in level flight 201 mph.

But the NB has better fuel economy. Best has been 51 MPG @ 58 MPH.

Yes I am an engineer as who else would spit out all this data.

I told a co-worker at lunch today about this post. He said that it sounds like his old neighbor Sue.
