Hi all,
I broke the front valance surround that holds the fog lights on my 2003 NBC, and I got three estimates. I bought the part myself, so these estimates are for paint and replace.
Two were for about $500, which involves pulling the front fender and bumpers. I got another for a little less than $400, which wouldn't involve pulling the front. So I'd like opinions on whether the job is do-able without pulling the front.
What do you think?
Thanks,
Carolyn

Is this the piece that you broke, in 2009 on the Roswell trip I ran over something east of Flagstaff on Highway 40. The part cost $100.00 and to have it painted was $123.00. I re-installed my self. I will show you the part that was damaged, is it the same as yours?? Photos attached..

Yes Mike, that is exactly the part I broke. It was either a big rock or a cattle guard...what was I thinking?
These instructions are invaluable, thank you so much. I have already received the part, so I will take these instructions to the CHEAPER body shop and cross my fingers.
Thank you so much!!!!!

Hi Carolyn,
That's the part that broke on my NB coming home from Hearst Castle, when a wood plank came flying over Vince's NB and hit my vent. The good guys at Carriage Collision in Huntington Beach who always take care of VW BEATL did it all for $280.00. The part, the painting, removal, attaching. They take great care of me there. Good luck, and see you at ToyJam 10!
