Just finished the 300,002 mile oil change. I am now parking my New Beetle till the parts for the timing belt replacement arrives on Tuesday. Will do the rest of the 300,002 mile service when I get a day off work. (May not be for two weeks.)
Hard to believe that VW recommends 10,000 mile oil changes. Even harder to believe that I drive 10,000 miles between oil changes and do not need to add any oil.
In the past 73,000 miles, I have kept records of every drop of fuel that I have added to the Beesel. I filled up today before the oil change. 47.5 MPH average over 73,000 miles on a car with 300,002 miles!
