It will be interesting to see their 'concept' version if it ever comes to fruition. Sooo many possibilities.

I received mine as a bday gift from my wife. I think she'll be getting one for a stocking stuffer. So far I like it! We already had Cingular family plan and for $20 more it gives unltd int up/down.

Frank,
If you're lucky and wait long enough, he might drop the price again :-) Fortunately, I got mine the day before Steve lowered the price and the AT&T store was so unsure about what to do they gave us a $200 credit to our account. The next day AT&T sent out a letter to customers saying they were only giving 'store credit' and not account credits. Fweew.
Down sides I've noticed so far:
1) Playing through the car's system you get noise from the Edge network and cell phone connects as it searches for towers.
2) Camera has no adjustements for zoom.
3) Limited application availability at this early time. So far there are quite a few places like appleopolis which you can access quick links through the internet and integrate with the mac osX style widgits found on the iPhone.
Plus sides:
1) I have an iPod for my music so I can hide that in the car and take the phone with me and still have something to listen to (no cell interference).
2) The camera is 2MP and the quality of the pics are darn good.
3) Maps, email, and internet on the fly. There's a site called earthcomber which allows you to add 'peeps' which allows you to identify where fellow carabugs are with gps accuracy. Earthcomber allows you to enter your current location and be able to access local entertainment, events, restaurants, etc, etc, SMS.
4) Suprisingly functional keypad for text input. Takes a bit to get use to finger position, but the learning curve is pretty steep.
5) Seemless WiFi integration for home networks (quicker than the Edge that AT&T uses).
I could probably go on and on but I don't know enough.
iM happy so far :-)

That's the main thing!
I almost went out and got one the day Steve dropped the price...but I am trying to stick to my guns about never buying the first generation of anything electronic. Let's see how long I can hold out! LOL
